Mangles Proposal Lower Gauley Trip October 8 (& 9)
Mangles Proposal Lower Gauley Trip October 8 (& 9)
“Return to the Scene of the Crime”
Formally known as the Lower Gauley First Timers Trip
Also it is Jackie's birthday. Come join the celebrations.
Mango and I will be coordinating a trip on the Lower Gauley Oct 9
We are planning on staying Rays Campground Saturday night.
http://www.rayscampground.com/
The plan is to meet in the parking lot of the former Food Land in Gauley Bridge at 11:30 on Saturday morning.
The GPS coordinates are 38.159262, -81.188911.
Food Land is on Rt. 60 on the left just before you get to the intersection of 60 and 39 in Gauley Bridge.
Remember it is Not the Food Land near the intersection of 19 and 60. Make sure you are at the right one. If you’re not in Gauley Bridge, you are at the wrong Food Land
We will Put On at Woods Ferry for part of the Middle and then the Lower.

Middle Gauley

This trip was started as a first timers trip and we hope to continue in that tradition.
If you are a first timer and are interested, please contact one of us first (contact info at the end)
Please don't just show up.
We have already had some interest from some first timers and to be able to accommodate
them and any more, we need some LG Veterans to join us also.
So if you feel comfortable on the LG and would like to help a “new to the LG” paddler, please let us know also.
We would like to make this as safe a trip as possible and will have to limit the number of
first timers if we don’t have enough veterans. Thanks for your help!
Also, this being the 10th Anniversary of the Mangles Proposal, we’re encouraging any
Paddling couples that would like to take the next step to join us for this trip. We
didn’t have any last year (almost though… ), but we are still hopeful that we will have some this year.
We will also run something (NRG or some natural flow) on Sunday the 9th.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming....WOW What a ride! . . . . . Trying to live up to this, Priceless. As long as you have good insurance!
Jackie and I will both be there in some capacity.

Other options are available, just ask!

Gromit and I will be there! We'd like to paddle Lower Gauley on Friday the 7th as well as Saturday the 8th. Same times and places for meeting up. Post up if you can join us, please. Thanks!

Since we cain't git no love for Friday, I reckon we'll stay home. Which means Sweetview is open for visitors Friday night. We can leave about 0830 - 0900 Saturday morning to make the meet at Food Land.
