I will be in Richmond Saturday morning and would like to get a group together to paddle fairly early. I need to be off the river by 11:30 am, so was figuring an 8:00 am meet at the take-out. I have paddled the lower a few times, but am not comfortable leading.

No concerns on my part to size. Gnarly and YOAD are the veterans, but sounds like we have sufficient experience/judgement to make it down in one piece.
