FatClan's wedding on the James

As several of you know, Santha and I are having our wedding on Belle Island by hollywood rapid this coming Saturday (June 8th). Those of you who are friends on facebook were sent invites, but if you didn't get an invite (because I'm either slack, missed your name when selecting the invitees, or aren't a FB friend), please know you are welcome to join in the ceremony. It'll be a quick little ditty and then it's back in the boats to finish off the trip.

The plan is to meet at the downtown take out around 10:30 to put on around 11. We are planning to have the ceremony around 12 right above hollywood and have several non-boaters meeting us at that time. Of course, as soon as we set the date, we found out that the X-terra games are going on at the same time. on Belle Island, so things might be a bit hectic/crowded. But hey. that's how we roll.

Dress code is boater gear. Hope to see you there.

congrats and wish i could join you in the celebration, alas work calls. Hope its a great day on and off the water, with many more to come...

Okay, ladies and gentlemen attending the wedding. We are watching this system and its effects on the downtown run. We will be checking the gauges and making a call as to our plans to boat or not by 9 am tomorrow. since we were planning on taking the raft with the kids, higher water levels are a concern. we still plan on having the ceremony on belle island, but may change to a walk-in plan and bump it back from noon to 2ish. again, this is tentative based on what the james does, but we would much rather stick to the original boating plans...more to come.

Final update:
Since the James is up to 12 ft., we will be walking in for the wedding ceremony rather than boating. The plan is to meet at the 22nd street parking lot and walk in. Please plan to meet at the parking lot around 12:30 to hike in. We plan to begin the ceremony around 1:30 or 2. Legends afterward at 3.
