Do not Google the address on the website – it will give you wrong directions. To get there take 60 west and then go north on Rt. 19 towards Summersville. After you cross over the Hughes Bridge (over Summersville Lake), take the first left towards the Summersville Airport. Follow signs to check in at the office. If you get to Summersville, you went too far north on 19.

Or for those GPS inclined, here are the coordinates to campsite #231 that KessmanN reserved: 38.235332,-80.87461
Generally, I think that if I have the opportunity to paddle, and I've got something else to do or I feel like I shouldn't go for some reason, then I force myself to go and I always have a great time. So, I guess when in doubt -- Go, Paddle. -- Tommy Hilleke

When Gromit and I paddled this section all any body talked about all day was SURPRISE SURPRISE SURPRISE. When we finally got to it we were all SURPRISED!!! And laughing like lunatics!

Hello again Kirby (you too, Amy!).

NRG seems like a good choice. I'll probably be there on Saturday too.

Gauley Bridge is not a good place to be if you are a boater. Avoid it if you can.

From RVA about 4hrs to route 19 truck stop /dam road (mt Nebo) , another 45min to Swiss. Much more pleasant drive then fayetteville to GB.

Also, Rt 39 runs all the way to Goshen from Summersville. About 3.5hrs from the Summervillle Lake dam to the Maury ledges take-out. Great road, lots of new pavement, very little traffic, low stress. The scenery is awesome. This fall will be spectacular.

I'm planning on being there for the Friday Lower Gauley trip, but plans are still up in the air for the rest of the weekend. Jimmy
