I'm headed up to the Ranch (Friendsville, MD) this weekend. It's the next to last Saturday release on the UY this year. Likely, I'll be running that Saturday and just working on Sunday.
Come on up!
You don't have to run the UY (or do work
) to stay at the Ranch!

Depends on whether Juggy takes you down the first time or not.
I'd suggest making it your project for next season. You will be ready for it by then for sure.

The thing is I haven't run it myself. I was hoping I could jump on the tail of someone who knows the river and wouldn't mind showing it.

He ran it twice about 3 years ago, but would not be comforable leading a first timer. Let's see if someone else comes through.

Had a brief hope that there would be a big enough trip on the lower yough so that someone would be comfortable in taking this newbie down the river. No loss though.
I hope everyone enjoys paddling this weekend.
Take care,
Antoni
