Larry - do you have a gauge minimum for the Coldstream to Rt 127 section that you go by? I see AW shows its running, but it uses a South Branch gauge instead of a Capacon gauge. no.. it's a crap shoot! if you can get your way through the Coldstream shallows.. you can go the rest! paddling is an adv...

Cacapon River Fall Colors... Paw Paw Bends. Sat Oct 25

We'll run the Cacapon, from Coldstream (downstream from Rt 50 Capon Bridge) to 127 Bloomery Pike takeout (Caudy's Castle) - unless water is too low, then we'd do the lower Cacapon or Paw Paw Bends on the Potomac River... minimal white water but fall colors scenic - 10-12 miles or so in distance.. fi...

THanks Barb!

for you company and the trip report!

did not know about the trip report rule either .. but someone at lunch was pretty sure it was a rule and past Presidents of the Coastals are not likely to be snookered with bogus rules.

right?

;-)

thanks!

looks to be peaking at 200 cfs on Rappahannock.. about 500 cfs on Rapidan. we could come down on Rapidan side to confluence.. then decent water to Motts... The Rappahannock is a more tolerable trip in terms of distance if set up for two nights camping... that allows folks from afar to meet at 9-10am...

Rappahannock Campground - about 4 miles from...
