Maury for Sunday
Hi all, I haven't posted here in awhile - sorry I missed the New Year's Day Chili Cook-off... Anyway, I have been wanting to run the Maury for over a year and it looks like my wish might finally come true. I can do a day trip from DC on Sunday. Actually I'll be driving down from Baltimore, yikes. An...

First Weekend of Gauley Season
To all who were in Dave Kessner's group at the Gauley this weekend - and to Dave of course - a big THANKS for letting the large DC group crash your party. I had a blast on the Lower G. for my first time - I even got the guts to follow Guy through some rapids, and we all know that's a dicey endeavor ...

Where would folks meet?
I'm in DC actually, so I'm not sure where I would meet you guys for the Maury (if the Goshen section were running)... Not sure I'd drive down for the James, I do like that river and have been wanting to paddle it lately, but it seems that it's rising a lot and I'm a little shy about putting on at hi...

Maury (goshen pass) - anyone wants to take a first-timer?
Hey guys, Long time since I posted here. I canceled a trip to the Beaver in NY this weekend because I'm a little sick, but should be fine by tomorrow. Looks like the Maury is running and I've had my eyes on that run for many months... Anyone would be interested in leading a first-timer down tomorrow...

I'm in for both!
It would be a drive for me either way, but I'm up for both those rivers for sure. I have tons of paddling chick buddies in the DC area so I'll rope them in if I can.

Correction
Mark Cooper is in GBCC, but this was not a GBCC-led trip by any official means. Just making it clear, in case that matters in any way.

Savage River, Western Maryland - January 28, 2006
Most of you don't know me - I came down from DC with Ray for the New Year's Day Paddle on the James. Monster suggested I post my Savage TR since some of you may be interested, so here it is. Probably not very informative as far as river info is concerned, but hopefully entertaining. Riverwuss. **** ...

ok, see you at the "regular" take out (the only one I know, but I know it's the new one for you guys) Yoohoo! Haven't been on a river all week - I can't wait! Have been re-playing the Hollywood rapid in my mind since New Years Day and I promise I'll nail the line this time  Riverwuss

where are we meeting then?
Hey there,
I trust you guys' judgment about what we'll run - you know I'm not a sik boater by any means
The question is - if we're not running to LJ, where would we meet? Let me know by email if you can - thanks!
RiverWuss.

From Ray and Helene - the DC folks
Dear all, It was indeed a fantastic way to bring in the New Year - I was very happy to meet y'all. A very welcoming bunch you all are - thanks for leading me down everything (especially Tom!). I'll be driving through Richmond on my way up from Norfolk on Monday Jan 16th - a holiday for some of you -...
