Lower Youghiogheny 4/24&25

Plan to run the Lower Yough this weekend. Sunday for sure and Saturday too, if I can find at least one fellow paddler.

Fourth of July Weekend Class 3/4

I'd like to paddle Class 3 or 4 to celebrate Independence Day. I'd prefer the Cheat Canyon if it's not too high. There are releases for the New River Dries, but I've never run it.

I wear a mask and open windows when shuttling.

Follow-up

The trip is on for Saturday but I don't have paddlers for Sunday ... yet. Remember boaters, this may be the best weather you get for awhile. (I think my prediction on the level may turn out to be pretty close.)

New River Gorge December 7&8

This Saturday and Sunday, join us for an invigorating December run down the New River Gorge. Cold water attire is mandatory. The forecast is for high temperatures in the mid-40s, partly cloudy, and little chance of rain. The river level was high because Bluestone Dam was drawing the reservoir down t...

Early run Saturday?

Is anyone interested in an early run on Saturday? Maybe 8 or 9 AM. I'd like to catch at least part of the Ohio State/Wisconsin game. All I need is 1 or 2 other paddlers.

Lower Youghiogheny, June 22 & 23

Looks like the Yough is going to be pretty high on Saturday. However, the Casselman has plenty of water and should be a lot of fun.

Thursday afternoon update — We have enough good paddlers for a fun and safe trip. However, there is still room for more. The Army Corps of Engineers reports: “The project is releasing 840 cfs today and plans to hold releases throughout the weekend. The Ohiopyle gage is at 4.2' and rising. Ohiopyle s...

Down Elk 3/2 & 3/3

We’re running the Elk below Webster Springs this weekend – easy Class III with lots of good rapids, beautiful scenery, wildlife, etc. We're going to split the cost of a heated cabin with kitchen and showers. Temperatures are forecast to be in the 40s. Anyone want to join in the fun?
