Summer of 1977......I'm In You by Peter Frampton blaring from the swimming pool speakers. And the cutie from Princeton, WV I had a crush on. Soon to be replaced the following summer by the two sisters from NOVA. And then there was that time that some of the older kids got into the 3.2% beer. Ahhhh.....

Another gentleman we chatted with (a Virginia Tech guy from Yorktown, VA) got a shot of an 8 footer. He also saw bears. We paddled 8 miles....and both of these gators we...

Griffith Ford is the usual put in for the Cowpasture to Iron Gate take out on the James. One class II ledge quarter mile or so from the put in.....run far river right at lower levels. The remainder of this run is pretty much I (I+) Not sure about best levels. Dennis is the resident Cow expert.....ma...

Gathright Dam to Petticoat Junction is a good float. Paddled that section many times from 250 up to 1500+ cfs. The rapid just below the dam is II (II+) depending on level but it is easy to skip if you like. Other than this one rapid......it is pretty much a class I (I+) paddle. There are several pub...

Thanks AJ! Unfortunately.....I work a long day every Saturday. 4+ hours one way for a Sunday day trip is just too much. Breaks is a spectacular place....visited there a few years ago but did not paddle. I look forward to better paddling days (and work schedule) ahead and a PFD of the RF. Ya'll have ...

Hey Terri! Love to have you join us. Probably looking at getting back from shuttle and putting on around 11:00 or shortly thereafter. Will that work OK?
