The bottom Tye trip is water level/weather dependent as to which river(s). We need at least 150 cfs from a combination of these two gages:
http://waterdata.usgs.gov/va/nwis/uv/?site_no=02027000 - Tye
and
http://waterdata.usgs.gov/va/nwis/uv/?site_no=02027500 - Piney

right now have plenty! with 312 cfs. To do just the Piney we'll need 120 in the Piney - now 105. I don't think that will happen, unless we get significant rain.

In any case, it's a fun class II. We will meet at Tye River Depot at 10:30 on this map http://goo.gl/maps/NtlFV to set shuttle.

If only the Tye is available – we’ll put in at Tye River Depot and take out at Ruckers Run (10 river miles). the first bridge ( around 4.5 miles).
feel free to contact me if you need further directions.

You can check this website for other maps and such too http://www.nelsoncountyva.org/NelDRace/

Please contact me to let me know you're going.

Yes, please count me in! (I may want to take out at the bridge depending on how you all feel about carrying me up the steep bank at Ruckers Run...) Thanks! Terri

note that I've edited the first post to say that I expect to be taking out at the first bridge. IF there are some that want to go down to Rucker's Run we can certainly set shuttle for you.

Ginny,

Thank you for the Tye River trip last Saturday. It was our first chance to get on the Tye this year. As always it was a wonderful float. The Tye still remains our favorite river float for its scenery and mix of flat water, with enough low level rapids thrown it to keep Jan and I happy. What can better than sharing a paddle on a great little river with friends. Thank you for leading the trip.

All,

Below is a link to the photos I took. Please download any that you like. I'll try to get the videos edited this week and post the composite to the same site.
